Milan and Roma are twins. They've lived together for years but only just met…

Milan, a violinist in a London orchestra, becomes aware of strange musical clicking sounds seeming to come from inside himself. A series of medical tests gradually reveal that before his birth he somehow managed to subsume his twin sister - an occurrence termed medically 'foetus in fetu'.

Milan names his sister Roma and embarks on the task of trying to introduce her to the world outside. He enlists the help of young special needs teacher Murri and together the three of them conduct a series of experiments to enable Roma to express herself… Like the pigeon in Patrick Suskind’s book of the same name, the discovery of Roma causes a revolution in his life.

This same subject was covered in Louis de Berni

When concert violinist Milan begins to hear musical tapping sounds that seem to be coming from somewhere inside him, he thinks at first that he may be losing his mind. But a scan at the hospital reveals the alarming truth: since birth Milan's body has been harbouring his twin sister - a rare medical occurrence that will turn his world upside down (or inside out).

At the centre of a whirlwind of media hype, Milan embarks on the most intimate and unexpected relationship of his life. His new-found sibling Roma believes there are only 147 people in the world. She has never seen the moon, never tasted her favourite wine. And as Milan attempts to introduce her to the world outside, he discovers for himself just how strange it really is.
