Is my book a good fit for Hercules Parrot?

Hercules Parrot publishes Crime and Mystery novels. We're looking for original, creative, and exciting voices who write captivating stories. We're especially interested in detective series with a humorous bent.

How do I submit my project to Hercules Parrot?

Please submit your book proposals directly to us by email or through your literary agent to: submissions@herculesparrot.com.

How will you work with me on my book?

If your manuscript is accepted, you will work closely with Hercules Parrot's editorial team to bring out the strengths in your book. After completing a conceptual edit, we will copyedit your manuscript, produce a beautiful ebook, and design a selling cover. We will also work with you to develop a marketing and publicity strategy that helps to bring your work to the largest possible audience.

How will you distribute my book?

Hercules Parrot will sell your book through Amazon's KDP Select, for a limited time. We believe the promotional opportunities available to enrolees in the KDP Select program are advantageous to launching your book. Following this period of exclusivity, we will distribute your ebooks to iBookstore, Kobo, Google Play, Barnes & Noble, and numerous other online retailers, including herculesparrot.com.

How will my book be promoted?

We will promote you and your book extensively, pursuing promotional opportunities througout the life of your publication by:

• Working with you to strengthen your presence online, helping you to cultivate and grow your already existing audience, or help you to create this presence if you haven't yet begun building one.
• Working with online retailers to secure promotional placement for your book, and optimize.
• Securing support among reviewers and book lovers by employing our extensive list of media and blogger contacts.
• Including your book in our e-newsletter, and in all our other social media marketing efforts.
• Crafting a selling profile of you and your book on herculesparrot.com, including an extensive excerpt from your book and a constant flow of updates, so readers can keep up on the latest news about you and your book.
• Keeping abreast of marketing and promotional developments in the ever-changing ebook-publishing landscape, and making sure your books are ready to take advantage of the next big thing.

What are your royalties?

Royalties begin at 50%. However, we do not pay advances. Contracts will be time-limited.

How is accounting handled for my book?

Hercules Parrot will present you with a quarterly statement which breaks down your royalties earned by month and by retailer.

Will you publish my book in print?

No. You keep the print rights for your book. We do not require print rights in order to consider publishing your work.
